O Queen of the Holy Rosary ========================== w: St. Dominic; trans. Emily M. Shapcote m: Stephen DeCesare, 1999 alt. tune: Ellacombe [Verse 1] O Queen of the Holy Ros'ry, O bless us as we pray, and offer you our roses in garlands day by day, while from our Father's garden with loving hearts and bold, we gather to your honor, buds white and red and gold. [Verse 2] O Queen of the Holy Ros'ry! Each myst'ry blends with thine the sacred life of Jesus in ev'ry step divine, your soul was His fair garden, your Virgin breast His throne, your thoughts His faithful mirror, reflecting Him above. [Verse 3] Sweet Lady of the Ros'ry, white roses let us bring, and lay them round your footstool before our Infant King. For nestling in your bosom God's Son was fain to be the Child of your Obedience and spotless purity. [Verse 4] Dear Lady of the Ros'ry, red roses cast we down, but let your fingers weave them into a worthy crown. For how can we poor sinners do aught but weep with Thee, when in your steps we follow our God to Calvary? [Verse 5] O Queen of the Holy Ro'sry, we share your joy and pain, and long to see the glory of Christ's triumphant reign. Oh, teach us holy Mary, to live each mystery, and gain by patient suff'ring the glory won by thee. Amen.
