Clear Through the Night ======================= w: Lorna Gray, 2007 m: Bob Sorem, 2008 [Verse 1] Clear through the night, the star insistent beckoned and on the hill the shepherds kept their flock. Then to the world, in God's great love unreckoned, came God's own Son, our Savior and Rock. All nature there, stood awed and still in silence, and heaven's Hosts then felt the pain of loss, as God's dear Son then left the place of glory to live on earth, to face hatred, the cross. [Verse 2] That point in time was planned with such precision from the beginning, and it now had come. Almighty God's own Son the "present" given, yet found in manger with cattle dumb. And from the glory, God the Father waited, seeing the wise and humble ones below-- not men of class, by bloodline royals fated, but simple men whom He could really know. [Verse 3] Upon the cross, the victory was purchased that freed us from the taint and pow'r of sin. And joy in heav'n in jubilation sounded, as God could welcome His Son home again. The glory of the purpose of our Father once more filled all the humble ones with awe, as Christ returned (the sinless final off'ring), so to us throwing open heaven's door.
